I come from proud a family that has been involved with public service for as long as I can remember. I want to work for you. We need to create more living wage jobs, improve our schools, and make public safety - especially getting guns off the streets, a top priority. I know what it takes to find solutions, navigate the complicated governmental agencies, and get things done.

Issues Summary Brief

Education

John supports high-quality K-12/pre-K education where students develop the skills necessary to become tomorrow's innovators. No student should go hungry or be left behind. Every student should be safe on campus without fear. Faculty and staff should be respected and have an equitable contract.

John supports providing our public schools with the resources to meet the daily challenges. Students should have a safe learning environment. The resources would include mental health services. I fully support funding our public schools and not cutting programs or increasing class sizes.

Healthcare

According to the United Nations (1948), as a universal right, John supports comprehensive health care. John’s position is firm that individuals have the right to choose. That choice is to be made
between the individual and the individual’s medical provider, not politicians or electricians.

From insulin to dental care to pre-hospital services to mental health services to women's health, these are part of comprehensive health care.

Additionally, the district is starting to see an increase in the number of folks who are transitioning to long-term care facilities. Family members are often charged with providing care without financial support.

Public Safety

John’s position is every Minnesotan deserves to feel safe in their community, which requires investing in public safety needs that not only address crime after it happens but help prevent it
from happening in the first place.

Broadband is not just for personal use, it can be applied to provide the public safety community the flexibility to conduct online training and use the monthly meetings for hands-on field training.

John supports collaboration with our tribal partners to share resources to address public safety concerns.

Public safety pensions/retirement plans protection.

Climate Change

John supports creating policy changes to guide energy investment and regulation while providing funding for energy-related agencies and programs.

John supports partnering with our tribal neighbors to collectively apply the knowledge to facilitate policies to reduce the climate change effects.
